The Part of No Part was a collaborative performance artwork that took place from September 2012 to August 2013 in Vancouver, Canada, organized by Dan Starling through 221A’s Curatorial Residency Program. Presented in an episodic fashion, punctuating the regular programming at 221A, Starling invited five artists to each design a part of a performance by concentrating on one aspect of it: sound by Julia Feyrer, costumes by Tiziana La Melia, staging by Willie Brisco, choreography by Lief Hall and script by Sam Forsythe. The performance then culminated into the grand finale, where Starling performed each part, along with dozens of props and procedures as part of a whole. A catalogue by 221A and Brick Press accompanied the exhibition with essays by Brian McBay, Dan Adleman and Dan Starling PDF .
